Payment & Security

Effective Date: 16 March 2025
Last Updated: 01 May 2026

Thank you for considering an original artwork from Ciano Art. This page explains how payments are handled, how your payment information is protected, and what applies to commissions and custom work.

1. Accepted Payment Methods

Ciano Art accepts secure online payments through:

  • Stripe
  • PayPal

Depending on availability at checkout, Stripe may allow payment by debit card, credit card or other supported payment methods.

For direct studio purchases or higher-value artwork enquiries, payment by bank transfer may also be arranged by prior agreement.

2. Secure Card Payments

Online card payments are processed securely by Stripe. Ciano Art does not store your full card details.

Stripe explains that it can securely collect and transmit payment information directly to Stripe, reducing the amount of sensitive card data handled by the website. Stripe also states that it is certified as a PCI Level 1 Service Provider, the highest level of PCI certification.

3. PayPal Payments

PayPal may be used at checkout where available.

When paying through PayPal, your payment is processed through PayPal’s own secure system. Eligible PayPal purchases may be covered by PayPal Buyer Protection, subject to PayPal’s terms, conditions and eligibility rules.

4. No Instalment Payments

Ciano Art does not currently offer instalment plans, loans, finance agreements or buy-now-pay-later arrangements.

Full payment is required before an available original artwork is dispatched, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

5. Commissioned or Custom Artwork Payments

For commissioned, custom or bespoke artwork, a 50% upfront payment is required before work begins.

The remaining 50% balance is due once the artwork is complete and approved, and must be paid in full before delivery, collection or shipping.

Commission deposits may be non-refundable once work has begun, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

For commission projects, details such as size, style, colours, deadline, presentation, shipping and any special requirements should be agreed before work begins.

6. Artwork Reservation

An artwork is not considered reserved or sold until payment has been received or a written agreement has been confirmed by Ciano Art.

If multiple enquiries are received for the same artwork, the work will usually be allocated to the first buyer who completes payment or confirms an agreed reservation.

7. Pricing

Artwork prices are listed in euro (€) unless otherwise stated.

Prices shown are for the artwork only unless clearly stated otherwise.

Shipping, stretching, framing, specialist delivery, customs duties, import taxes, tariffs and local fees may be quoted or charged separately where applicable.

8. Invoices and Receipts

After purchase, you will receive an order confirmation or receipt by email.

For direct studio purchases, commissions or trade enquiries, an invoice can be issued where required.

9. Fraud Prevention and Order Checks

For security reasons, Ciano Art may contact you to confirm order details before dispatch, particularly for higher-value artworks, international orders or orders with unusual billing or shipping details.

Ciano Art reserves the right to cancel or refund an order if fraud, suspicious activity, incorrect pricing, payment failure or unauthorised use of a payment method is suspected.

10. Payment Currency and International Charges

International buyers may be charged in their local currency by their bank, card provider or PayPal.

Currency conversion rates, international transaction fees or bank charges are set by the buyer’s own payment provider and are not controlled by Ciano Art.
