About Me
Ciano’s art merges the grit of street art, graffiti, and Expressionism, resulting in compositions that feel both raw but contemporary. His work is marked by bold colours and an untamed edge, often layered with personal stories, reflections on subcultures, nostalgia, and social commentary. From a young age, Ciano had always been drawn to the world of art. As a child, he displayed a remarkable talent and won numerous local awards for his creative endeavors. However, life took an unexpected turn, and his artistic pursuits took a backseat to his love for music. For 16 long years, Ciano immersed himself in the world of DJing and music production, leaving behind his cherished brushes and canvases.
But life has a way of circling back to one’s true passions. In 2011, a twist of fate in the form of a recession and subsequent redundancy from his main job propelled Ciano back into the realm of art. The economic downturn forced many to reevaluate their lives, and for Ciano, it was a sign to rekindle his artistic flame.
With this newfound motivation, Ciano embarked on a journey of self-discovery and creative exploration. While he worked part time as a framer he enrolled in local art classes, experimenting with various styles and techniques, searching for his artistic identity. While he had a vision, he was unsure of what he wanted his art to convey.

In 2017, a café in Cork City offered Ciano an art residency, providing him with the perfect platform to showcase his talent. The positive feedback from customers and the sale of his artworks served as validation, confirming that he was on the right path. Today, Ciano’s artwork spans a wide range of mediums, including paintings and mixed media with collage work. Each piece reflects his inspiration drawn from raw moments and instant ideas, resulting in diverse and distinct works.
Beyond his technical skill, Ciano’s art is a manifestation of his deep love for subcultures. Fascinated by their unique styles, music, fashion, and attitudes, he sought to capture the essence of these underground movements. With rebellious spirit, freedom of expression, individuality, and unconventional beauty, Ciano infused his pieces with the vibrancy and energy.
Already, his talent has caught the attention of private collectors, with numerous artworks finding homes and businesses primarily in Cork, Dublin and the USA. To further showcase his artistry and creativity, Ciano recently had a successful exhibition at the esteemed Laneway Gallery in Cork City in May 2023.
Ciano’s journey serves as a testament to the power of perseverance, self-discovery, and embracing one’s true passion. Through his art, he invites us all to celebrate the beauty of freedom of expressionism what it means to be different and encourages us to embrace our own unique paths in life.
